May 21, 2016Whistlin' Dixie*New to the Front Porch Stage, we welcome Whistlin' Dixie from in and around Newton County, Arkansas. Whistlin' Dixie play a variety of music, from Southern Rock to Hank Williams Jr. to Red Dirt/Outlaw Country. We know you'll enjoy them!
May 27, 2016Good Ol' Gospel Friday on the Front Porch Stage

Unfortunately, Good Ol' Gospel Friday has been CANCELLED due to rain!
During Mount Ida's Good Ol' Days, the 'Stage features a "Good Ol' Gospel" show on Friday.
  • The Rose Family will perform beginning at 6 pm
  • The Prestons will perform on the 'Stage beginning at 7 pm

The Prairie Grove Band


The ground is soggy, and the weather outlook is not good, so Prairie Grove is unfortunately CANCELLED!


We like to have The Prairie Grove Band back often. Come out and see/hear what they have in store for us this month!
June 11, 2016Posey HillWe are happy to welcome back Posey Hill (Web; Facebook) to the Front Porch Stage. Built around the trio of Doug Burnett and his two oldest daughters, Kristian and Erin, Posey Hill is a fine Americana blend of Arkansas bluegrass, old time and contemporary folk. Usually accompanied by in-law Chuck Hughes, they feature enchanting vocals with tight family harmony and tasteful acoustic instrumentation performing songs for people of all ages to enjoy.
June 18, 2016Interstate ThirtyWe're again excited to have Interstate Thirty back to the Front Porch Stage to perform their mix of "traditional, gospel, and non-traditional bluegrass". Their 2014 and 2015 performances on the stage were terrific, and we certainly look forward to their return visit.
June 25, 2016Dave Almond and John Talley, aka. The Southwest Arkansas All-StarsDave Almond (Facebook) and John Talley last performed together on The Front Porch Stage on June 14, 2014, and it was a terrific show. This evening's performance should be no different.

July 9, 2016The Caddo Cowboys*We're pleased to welcome the newly-formed local band, The Caddo Cowboys, to the Front Porch Stage. There are some familiar names here: Jake Powell on drums, Joe Carmack on bass, and Hayden Powell on guitar. All members of the band contribute to vocals. Looking forward to your music!
July 16, 2016Common Ground*Common Ground (Facebook) describes their music as an eclectic blend of folk, Celtic, bluegrass, early rock and country, performed in their own unique styles on banjo, mandolin, guitar and washboard. We welcome them to the Front Porch Stage for the first time!
July 23, 2016Gator & Friends*Gator & Friends (Facebook) is a Cajun county/gospel band in Polk county, AR, who play at entertainment venues, private parties, and retirement/nursing homes. We look forward to their first appearance on the Front Porch Stage!

Casey Lee Penn


Due to the severe thunderstorms in Mount Ida and Montgomery County this afternoon, the Casey Lee Penn and Friends performance is unfortunately CANCELLED!

We were very happy to hear Casey Lee Penn last year, sharing the stage with Roger King, for her first time on the Front Porch Stage. And, now we are glad to welcome her back for a repeat performance of her mix of country, bluegrass, and original music.
August 6, 2016Shady GroveShady Grove Band will entertain with pop/country standards and original music. Dian Glover and Erica Johnson's vocal harmonies blend to create a cool and unique sound. Dian plays keyboard, Erica accompanies with the guitar, and Thomas Glover adds to the mix with his percussion and harmonica.

Diamond Blues Band


It's been another stormy day in Mount Ida and Montgomery County, so, most unfortunately, the Diamond Blues Band performance has had to be CANCELLED!

We knew The Diamond Blues Band as “Community Blues” when they came here in 2013. We had them scheduled for 2014, but they unfortunately had to cancel. We were very happy to have this great Arkansas band on our stage again in 2015, and now we look forward to their return for our 2016 season.

Kristin Chesshire*


It has AGAIN been stormy and rainy in Mount Ida and Montgomery County, so the Kristin Chesshire performance has had to be CANCELLED! We're all disappointed.

Kristin Chesshire is a young, fourteen year-old musician and singer/songwriter from Glenwood.Arkansas. Kristin has been playing guitar over four years and writing songs for the last three. Her father, James, has been playing guitar for over twenty five years and accompanies Kristin. Ed LaCerra plays electric rhythm and leads and provides harmony vocals. This will be Kristin’s first performance on the Front Porch Stage.
August 27, 2016HarmonyThe Front Porch Stage is again pleased to have Harmony perform on our stage. This gospel band features great voices and musicianship, and they bring their own over-the-top sound system to embellish their music.

Gator & Friends (Facebook) is a Cajun county/gospel band in Polk county, AR, who play at entertainment venues, private parties, and retirement/nursing homes. We very much enjoyed their July 23, 2016, appearance on Front Porch Stage, and we say Thank You for filling in for Rodger King.

This is good and bad; good for Kristin, bad for the Front Porch Stage. Kristin won 1st place in a statewide competition and will be appearing at the Arkansas State Fair instead of on the Front Porch Stage!
